CARLA BARCLAY CONTINUES HIGHER EDUCATION, BALANCING
HER BUSY SCHEDULE OF WORK, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY
Carla Barclay, assistant manager in the District Clerk’s Civil and Family Collections section, works daily with a motivated group of deputies whose goal is to strive for excellence while making customers its top priority.
This commitment to excellence -- as well as to her own continued personal and professional growth -- is instilled in Ms. Barclay, who was an executive administrator in the media relations department at Sabre Holdings, the parent company of Travelocity.com., prior to coming to Dallas County.
With a BA in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Texas at Arlington, Ms. Barclay will complete her Certification for Mediation from the American Center for Conflict Resolution in Lakewood, Ohio, in December. Additionally, she plans to pursue a Masters Degree in spring 2010.
Born and raised in Dallas County, though currently residing in Tarrant County, Ms. Barclay balances work, continuing education and her family. She has two children who keep her very busy, but she still finds time to work out, travel, cook, read, write and spend time with other family and friends.
“Helping others is something I thrive on, volunteering at various organizations as well as at my church,” says Ms. Barclay. “I enjoy mentoring youth, working with senior citizens and serving the community. My hobbies include photography, editing novels for local and out of state authors, and event-planning for small parties. And I’m a huge basketball fan.”
