BARBARA BARTON HAS BEEN PART OF HISTORIC CONVERSION
OF FIRST FAMILY DISTRICT COURT IN DIGITAL COURTS PROJECT

Barbara Barton, currently lead clerk in the 302nd Judicial District, has been an integral part of that court’s conversion to a paperless document and case management system. Says Barbara, “Being the first court to implement the Digital Courts Project was an enormous challenge because there was no one to tell us what to do when we encountered an unexpected situation, but we have mastered the process now and the benefits certainly justify all the work it took to reach this stage.”

“After serving for almost eight years in the 330th and then the 302nd I have seen first-hand how much more efficient this system enables to be, allowing us to view documents and orders right at our fingertips,” continues Barbara. “Frequently pleadings are eFiled and we can import the documents and get it on the system for that morning’s hearing.”

Barbara began her Dallas County service in 1995 in the Sheriff’s Department as an intake clerk, moving first to a Justice of the Peace office and finally to the District Clerk’s office.

A Dallas native, Barbara graduated from W.H. Adamson in 1984. Barbara recently remarried and is happy to be sharing her new life with children Estella, Angel and Miranda and grandchildren Angel and Kimberly.
