Many people would love to have the time and money to work out on a regular basis, but expensive club memberships and conflicting family schedules make it difficult.

For only $1 per person per class, adults can work out and bring their children over 5 to Zumba classes taught by District Clerk Evidence Registrar Denise Mailey. Classes are held each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the great hall at St. Matthew’s Church at 5100 Ross near Fiesta.

“Zumba incorporates great dance rhythms from all over the world, including Latin, Caribbean and many others,” says Denise, who is certified as a Zumba instructor. “It’s energizing and uplifting, which gives it psychological benefits as well as physical ones.”

A life-long dancer who was a member of the famed Kilgore Rangerettes, Denise is an energetic presence full of vitality in the District Clerk’s office. She says she loves sharing the gift of dance and its positive effects with people of every age and that teaching this class is a critical part of her vibrant personality.

“Children must remain with adults at all times during the class, but Zumba is so easy and fun, that children get as involved as older participants,” concluded Denise.
