Shundra Young Balances Working on Her Masters
In Math While Working Full-Time and Being a Mother

Energy, enthusiasm and a constant smile are some of the outstanding characteristics of civil and family collections deputy clerk Shundra Young.

Shundra joined the department a year ago after moving with her family from Tyler, Texas, where she worked as a paralegal for four years. While in Tyler, Shundra attended Tyler Junior College where she received an associates degree in pre-law.

She attended Texas A & M Commerce, where received a BA in math in 2008, as well as teaching certification. Already well-prepared for a variety of positions in the workplace – from legal work to teaching math – Shundra is currently working towards a masters degree in mathematics from Phoenix University.

A working mother who is engaged to be married, Shundra balances all these responsibilities with poise and confidence that are tremendous assets to the District Clerk’s office.

Her solid academic credentials and work experience are bolstered by a genuine concern for helping each customer every day. “I truly love people and helping others,” says Shundra. “When some one needs assistance and I can help them that is a great reward.”

Born in the small town of Winona, Texas, where she graduated from high school, Shundra has worked steadily to acquire an education and valuable work experience, drawing on her strong faith each step of the way to help her achieve her goals.

After just a year, Shundra – with her exceptional work ethic and extraordinary energy – has already made many valuable contributions to the District Clerk’s office and is certain to continue on her path to success.
